Lookout Point at North Stradbroke Island

North Stradbroke Island is an wonderful experience.
I went by train from the Brisbane Airport to Cleveland, then a local bus from Cleveland Station to the Stradbroke Island ferry. The bus was free and met each ferry.
The ticket I purchased was a return.

The ferry ride was wonderful as it was sunset time and the sky was full of fire.

The Ferry Stopped at the Quay where it was met by a Bus that dropped me right at the YHA.

Lookout Point was a 30 minute walk from the hostel, and I walked there on the road, and also across the sand, which was a harrowing experience as night fell, and the climb to the top was a bit scary in the darkening shadows. The views are very beautiful...from Land and from the clifftop.

At Lookout Point there is a clifftop walk, and it from here that these photos are taken.
You can sit on the top of the cliff on the rocks and view the dolphins below, and the whales far out at sea, but you would need binoculars for closer viewing.

The surrounding is a mass of vegetation and it is full of birds. A kookaburra laughed at me the first walk.
