A border Collie enjoys the last of the sunset.

The colors reflect in the waves of the incoming tide,
He watches the movement with the colors of the final shades of sun
Chasing the imaginary fish and crabs
As fishlike, the waves relentlessly charge to shore
Like they have always done
Since time began.

Alone, in the water, the dog chases the waves,
Stops puzzled, looks at the sunset, and sighs.
The people on the shore smile at the final brushstrokes
Of the end of another beautiful display of Nature.
