Tide is coming in at Burrum Heads

Tide has come in, originally uploaded by Ladymaggic.
You can see the movement in the waters as they rush to shore
With an urgency that maybe the shore will recede before it does

Nugget's Weekly Prediction
Weekend of November 21 / 22
Saturday looks like the better day this weekend although it will still be marginal for exposed areas.
Tides:
Ideal tides this weekend to collect your own bait, low tide is just after daylight but it is the only low tide during daylight hours, if you miss it you’ll struggle to pump yabbies.
Medium tidal flow this weekend; the morning run in tide will have the strongest flow and Saturday’s tides will be slightly bigger than Sundays.
Very early Sat morning run out tide is 35% of the year’s biggest.
Saturday during daylight hours the run in is 55% of the year’s biggest – the run out Sat afternoon is 45%.
Sun tides are about 45min later and 5 – 10% smaller than Sat tides.
Solunar Peaks:
The solunar peaks for the weekend are reasonable and will have a slight effect, especially Saturday.
On Saturday they are 75% and fall at 2.50am and 3.00pm.
On Sunday they are 50% and fall at 3.30am and 4.00pm.
Target Species: - Whiting | Mulloway | Flathead | Jacks | Pelagic
Whiting – Although not the best tides, a late spawning run has seen excellent catches of whiting in all rivers, creeks and estuaries over the past few weeks.
Most locations fish better on the run out tide and bloodworms are by far the best bait.
Position yourself on the edge of a sandbank in 3 – 6m of water on the run out tide.
Use a 3 ball sinker, 1.5m trace, 2 – 3kg line and bloodworms for bait.
You can also use small yabbies, tiny prawns or soldier crabs which will catch you whiting, but not as many.
Sandbanks are not always visible on the surface – a gradual slopping bottom in a sandy area is still a sandbank – just submerged.

Mulloway - Tides are good this weekend for mulloway around bar entrances provided you’re there very early and fish the last of the run out.
If you’re buying bait try squid or very big prawns which seem to work at this time of year however live mullet will improve your chances a lot.
They also take larger soft plastics worked very slowly just up off the bottom.
Mangrove jacks – Hot sultry days have seen quite a few jack caught over the past week.
Look for structure – sunken trees, jetties and rocky areas.
Cast lures or lightly weighted bait in as close to the snags as possible.
Prime time will be tide changes, dusk and dawn.
Flathead – The small amount of rain has improved flathead catches.
Most of the action has been at the mouth of rivers, creeks and drains on the edge of the main channels, not up in the shallows.
Sandy patches in amongst weed beds are also good.
